Your Opportunity 

As a Construction Inspector, you’ll be the on-site eyes and ears for our Construction Manager, ensuring that water infrastructure projects are built to the highest standards. You’ll monitor contractor performance, document progress, provide quality assurance, and help resolve issues that arise in the field. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, values precision, and enjoys working closely with contractors and clients to deliver impactful results. 

 What You’ll Do 

  • Serve as the primary field inspector for water and wastewater infrastructure projects 
  • Monitor contractor activities and prepare detailed daily reports 
  • Verify compliance with specifications, standards, and procedural manuals 
  • Communicate directly with contractors regarding conformance issues 
  • Identify and document potential changes to the contract scope 
  • Maintain master as-built and record drawing documentation 
  • Attend progress meetings, and evaluate the schedule of performance 
  • Review RFIs, submittals and inspection plan  
  • Assist in developing project-specific QA/QC standards and documentation 
  • Coordinate field testing and inspections per contract requirements 
  • Review and submit test reports for project turnover 
  • Document inspections, non-compliance notices, and corrective actions 
  • Track force account work and document labor, equipment, and materials used 
  • Review monthly contractor pay estimates for accuracy 
  • Prepare and manage punch lists for incomplete or deficient work 

 



Qualifications

What You Bring 

  • A strong commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety guidelines 
  • Ability to interpret contract documents and test plans for specific work packages 
  • Confidence in discussing project issues with clients and reviewing agencies 
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving 
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, codes, and standards 
  • Familiarity with digital inspection tools and reporting platforms 
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and resolve field issues efficiently 
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience 
  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management preferred 
  • OSHA 20-Hour certification required, OSHA 40-Hour certification preferred
