Job Description
CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician required to join a leading aftermarket engineering company based in Canastota, NY.
CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating manual and CNC lathes, mills, and other shop equipment to support both production and engineering operations in a low-volume, high-mix environment. The role involves blueprint interpretation, machine maintenance, and contributing to quality and safety standards across the facility.
CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician will ideally have experience performing a range of fundamental machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, and threading, on turbomachinery components and assemblies.

CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist / Machining Technician
Role
- Experience operating and monitoring CNC machines for precision and performance.
- Confident using propane/acetylene torches and basic lifting gear (pallet jacks, small lifts).
- Ability to read blueprints and G-Code with ease.
- Hands-on knowledge of machining processes: turning, milling, drilling, and threading.
- Comfortable working to tight tolerances and producing high-spec parts from detailed technical drawings.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) and their proper care and calibration.

Requirements
- Proficient in operating CNC machinery with at least 3 years of experience.
- Skilled in working with manual machines and band saws.
- Capable of calculating dimensions and tolerances using mathematical principles and precision instruments such as micrometers and callipers.
- Competent with hand tools and demonstrates strong basic mechanical aptitude.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
